Response for 9/21/11

Schopenhauer believes that art is special because it is the purest form of expression. It is the way we relate to reality and nature through another human being because it lacks the impurities that make reality and nature so hard to understand especially because it comes straight from the mind of the creator. He looks at artists as geniuses because they can take an idea, replicate it and turn it into something that connects humans together. Art, according to Schopenhauer has the ability to revive a man because it causes a person to take on another's feelings and become one with the art and the world instead of the only real thing on the planet.
