I like that Schopenhauer says that music is a representative of the will that than a representation of Ideas. Music and art will always represent a form of idea. In fact, they all started out as ideas. Whenever someone looks at a piece of art or hears a song or any form of music, they gather ideas for something else. The difference is, artwork isn't a representation of the will. The artist can easily paint a tree but say it is a car. They will only ever be ideas. Music is will because it will always be what it is. Music tells stories, and those stories are sometimes true. the story will always be in that piece of music, and it will always be the will.
