Schopenhauer views reality as two parts to a whole, meaning that everyone perceives the world differently. The two halfs work together to balance reality and the world. Without one or the other, reality would decay. In the same sense, each half, or rather the "subject" and the "object," are governed by rules which hold them together.
As one person may perceive an event or a subject as reality, another may see it as fake. This is what molds our world as we see it now, both singularly and collectively.
