The difference between Apollonian music and Dionysian music does make me think differently about music, at least while I am listening. The way that Dionysian music is described, similar to Schopenhauer, as evoking emotion, is interesting. I do agree that when one hears Dionysian music, one is compelled to dance, and in dancing gains a new "symbolic" power that was, before, restrained. Whereas, with Apollonian music everything is structured and is based on tones, such that one is not encouraged to dance.
Now having a better understanding of Nietzsche, I can properly understand the type of music that I am hearing and understand why people dance with some music and not others.
