Nietzsche says that Wagner is not a musician, but an actor and a liar. He thinks that Wagner is not being true to the music, because his dramas aren't about the music itself, but are about ideas. Nietzsche also seems to not like these ideas. He accuses Wagner of being a tyrant, and corrupting the youth, etc. It seems as if Nietzsche believes Wagner to be a "sell out". That Wagner realized what people wanted to see and what would make him rich and famous, and started writing his operas with that in mind.
