I felt that Hanslick was as we have discussed putting a wet-blanket over what Schopenhauer said about the arts and music. I felt he was saying that there truly is no representation of will and that music doesn't trigger any exact emotion from the will which conflicts with Schopenhauer. The true connection between the human's will and music was about the structural composition of music how I saw of Hanslick. After reading Hanslick trying to basically state that Schopenhauer and a few other philosophers were wrong, I felt more inclined that I in many ways agreed with what Schopenhauer was saying, but when I was in the depths of Schopenhauer's thoughts themselves I was like yeah.. whatever.
