It seems that Nietzsche does not bring up any technical aspects that make music good. Instead, he mentions that music makes a person better and "redeems" us. "Has it been noticed that music liberates the spirit?" (158). Good music should also treat the listener as if they have the same intelligence as the musician. Nietzsche also states several times that these things are the opposite of what Wagner does with the exception of redemption whereas he proposes '...Wagner is not the only "redeemer."'(158)
