I believe that the zeitgeist today is greed and power. It seems that those with more money they will ever need keep wanting more and more because the more money one has, the more powerful they are. When people think of success, they think of rich people. This greed is causing a great divide between the rich and poor. It is reflected in the music industry because it seems that all they care about is making money, not quality music. Fergie from Red Hot Chili Peppers can't sing in tune when performing live, but the group makes millions from crappy unimaginative and unoriginal music. It affects philosophical thought today-the innate human desire for power.
I really enjoyed Prof. Pane's piano playing and the joint class. It gave us all a different perspective.
